Who is S.W. Wilkins?

S.W. Wilkins grew up in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. With a struggling single mom dedicated to making ends meet, a strained relationship with his older sibling, tripled by knowing few kids his own age meant that Wilkins mostly found solace in his own imagination. He spent countless hours embarking on exciting adventures with his action figures, drawing unique characters, and bringing colorful worlds to life as he played make believe by himself in the back yard. Unfortunately, as it so often happens, Wilkins left behind his daydreams to enter "the real world."

Wilkins would go on to work numerous jobs in a variety of interesting - and not so interesting - fields. He worked in food, retail, landscaping, construction, fitness; he even spent a few years playing the role of a knight in a live dinner show! Eventually, he would move to beautiful Asheville, North Carolina to work in finance. That was it, he had made it. He had avoided the constant grind his mother had been subject to for most of his life, he could buy a home, "settle down," everything was going the way it should. Right? Then why did it feel like something was missing?

Quitting his job in finance, S.W. Wilkins decided to go back to school. He had always been enthusiastic about storytelling, and he wanted to learn how to write like all his favorite authors. He wanted to carve out a place in the world for himself, one that he could be proud of...

What the future holds for S.W. Wilkins...

As an emerging writer, the journey is just beginning, and I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. In the coming years, my primary goal is to share my stories and ideas with a wider audience. I plan to submit my work to various literary journals, hoping to connect with readers who appreciate fresh voices and diverse perspectives. Publishing in established journals would be a significant milestone, as it would allow me to hone my craft and contribute to the community I admire and strive to be a part of.

In addition to pursuing traditional publishing opportunities, I am also exploring various self-publishing methods as a way to bring my work directly to readers. The flexibility and creative control that self-publishing offers is something I find incredibly appealing, and I look forward to taking the chance to experiment with different formats and approaches to storytelling.
